A portable male urinal has been axed from an art exhibition after some visitors mistook it for a working toilet. The 1890s urinal – known as the Westoe Netty – had formed part of a display at the Beamish Museum in Stanley, Co Durham. Bosses say misuse has forced them to relocate it within the museum where it can be plumbed in and used for its original intention.
